Between Friends

(Super Pop Portugal) — We interviewed his friends that told us everything: how they met, their funniest moments, and the best and worst of Devon. Are you ready? Then read here:

1.) Christina Ricci (together since the beginning)

WHERE DID YOU TWO MEET?

We met while filming "Casper" and in "Now and Then". We were both doing the first steps in the movie business and we got along great.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT A COUPLE OF MOMENTS YOU HAD TOGETHER?

Well, the funniest thing was that happened was that we had to kiss in the two movies we did together. We were both really embarrassed. "Why didn't you guys practice before?", they commented. After we stayed quiet, looked at each other and said at the same time: "We don't need to. We'll practice while were shooting" and we started to laugh.

WHAT'S DEVON'S BEST QUALITY?

His sincerity. He always tells the truth. But always really loveable and always careful not to hurt anyone's feelings.

AND HIS WORST?

He's a perfectionist maniac! He wants to do everything so well that he's always nervous.

2.) Demi Moore (friend for always)

WHERE DID YOU GUYS MEET?

During the shooting of "Now and Then". There were a lot of people, but Devon had a special something that made it that he divided himself between everyone.

TELL US SOMETHING THAT YOU EXPERIENCED TOGETHER.

Yes, poor him he was scared to death because there was a scene where he had to get undressed. I told him: "Calm down, you can be sure that it won't be the last time you'll have to do that. It has to be the first time sometime, right? He looked at me and said: "Ya, but I'd like for it to be a second." But everything turned out alright.

WHAT'S DEVON'S BEST QUALITY?

His ability to understand people's problems. He has a way to look at the world that permits him to see things under every angle and from every point of view.

AND HIS WORST?

I suppose that it's also his understanding. People tend to abuse of those people that are so comprehensive. Happily, he's very understanding, but he's not dumb. He recognizes fakes, he just has to look at them and see.

3.) Melanie Griffith (filming partners)

WHERE DID YOU GUYS MEET?

In "Now and Then". Devon is one of those guys who don't go unnoticed. He's a bit shy and really discrete but he has a special enchantment that doesn't leave him unnoticed.

TELL US ABOUT AN EXPERIENCE YOU HAD TOGETHER.

We were in the dressing room and he spilled a coffee cup. I told him that there was no problem that they would clean it up, but he just started cleaning everything.

WHAT'S DEVON'S BEST QUALITY?

I would say it's his humility. He's super simple. He acts like as if he's your next-door neighbor, despite the fact he has tons of girls waiting for him around every corner.

AND HIS WORST?

He's very perfectionist. I would even say he's obsessive. Despite that we can also say it's a virtue right?

4.) Vince Vaughn (subtle friendship)

WHERE DID YOU MEET?

At the filming of "A Cool, Dry Place". It was one of my favorite filming's of my life.

TELL US ABOUT AN EXPERIENCE YOU HAD TOGETHER.

We were filming in Canada, his country. One day we had some free time and he asked me: "Wanna come with me to see my family? "I thought," why not? . We went in the car and drove to Vancouver and ate with his parents and siblings. They're an enchanting family.

WHAT'S DEVON'S BEST QUALITY?

His generosity. He's always ready to help everyone. He looks into your eyes, asks you what's wrong, and without knowing, a few seconds later, he's telling you about all your sadness.

AND HIS WORST?

He's too nice!

5.) Bill Pullman (like a father)

WHERE DID YOU MEET?

We only saw each other a few times in "Casper" and at an awards show. But it was enough to see that this guy has spirit.

TELL US ABOUT AN EXPERIENCE YOU HAD TOGETHER.

At the awards show we saw each other by coincidence and we started talking. Suddenly, we saw a bunch of girls from far coming near us. Devon told me: "It's amazing, Bill, where ever you go you always have a bunch of admirers." But when they got closer to where we were, they started to ask Devon for autographs and screaming his name instead of mine. We laughed a lot.

WHAT'S DEVON'S BEST QUALITY?

His spontaneity. I never met anyone so simple and spontaneous like Devon.

AND HIS WORST?

I think Devon doesn't have bad qualities. But even if he did I wouldn't say.

6.) Jonathan Taylor Thomas (a very special brother)

WHERE DID YOU MEET?

We were brothers in the movie "Wild America". It was the funniest filming I've ever had.

TELL US ABOUT AN EXPERIENCE YOU HAD TOGETHER.

In one of the scenes, Devon had to be really close to the crocodiles, despite the scene looking really dangerous, there was a glass in the middle if there ever was a problem. In a determined moment while shooting I screamed that the glass wasn't there. And he started running desperately, the face he made when he realized it had been a joke deserved to be filmed!

WHAT'S DEVON'S BEST QUALITY?

His sense of humor. He's always telling jokes. I never saw anyone laugh with so much will. And, on top of that, the fact he blindly relies on it.

AND HIS WORST?

His angel look, at first he pulls it off, but after knowing him better, we understood that he was a real devil.

7.) Scott Bairstow (the "Big Brother")

WHERE DID YOU MEET?

I played the role of the big brother in the movie "Wild America". But I wouldn't mind having a brother like Devon. He's a great person.

TELL US AN EXPERIENCE YOU HAD TOGETHER.

At the site of the filming there was an enormous amount of admirers with big signs where was written his name and Jonathan's. I said playfully: "You guys are so selfish! You could at least leave some for me! And Devon answered: "It's obvious. We're brothers, right? There should be 33.3% of the fans for each one of us. If it's not like that, don't count on me."

WHAT'S DEVON'S BEST QUALITY?

He's a really positive guy and he's super optimistic. Sometimes he seems preoccupied or lost, but he always ends up finding an excuse, even in the ones where there's apparently no way out.

AND HIS WORST?

The obsession about wanting to get along with everyone. It's impossible! But Devon spends his life trying.

Devon's opinion on...

Christina Ricci: "What I like most about Christina is that she has a lot of personality. We go out sometimes for a drink and we always end up laughing and crying the whole time."

Demi Moore: "I admire her a lot as an actress and as a person. It was luck, being able to work with her and I wouldn't mind repeating the scenes."

Melanie Griffith: "She's enchanting and really generous."

Vince Vaughn: "Not only was he a great filming co-star but also a great friend. It's a shame that this job doesnt permit us to spend more time together."

Bill Pullman: "He's patient, attentive and he knows how to listen. Three qualities in extinction. God grant (expression frequently used by Devon) that there was more people like him in the world."

Jonathan Taylor Thomas: "If you're ever gonna be with him prepare yourself to laugh a lot. He's an hopeless clown."

Scott Bairstow: "If I had an older brother I wouldn't mind it being Scott. He's a bit serious, somewhat too responsible, but we always feel secure when were around him.
