"Around the Fire" > You Come Here A Lot?

Cut to: Simon and Andrews standing next to Simon's mothers gravestone.

Andrews: You know I never lost anyone close to me. (long pause) You come here a lot?

Simon: Yeah she's the only person I can trust.

Andrews: Well that's not true bro.

Simon places a rock on the gravestone.

Simon: Thanks for coming here Andrews.

Simon starts to walk off.

Andrews (stops Simon): Hey. I'm always checking the hippie pouch.

Andrews throws him the hippie pouch, Simon opens it.

Simon: Wow.

Andrews laughs.

Simon: What's this gonna do?

Andrews comes up to Simon and he grabs one.

Andrews: Well.

He puts one in his mouth.

Andrews: You definitely wanna cancel your afternoon appointments.

He hands a pill to Simon.

Andrews: If that's what you mean.

Simon puts the pill in his mouth. They both run to the convertible.

Cut to: Water in a fountain. Simon's looking at the fountain water amazed because it has crystals in it and it's bubbling with beautiful colors. It's because of the pill he took. Andrews, Trace, Jennifer and Kevin are by a picnic table nearby. Andrews looks over at Simon.

Andrews (to his friends): Hey, take a look at the freak.

They all look up from what they were doing. They laugh seeing Simon kneeling and looking so amazed at this water fountain. Andrews and trace come up behind him. Simon looks more amazed at them.

Simon (whispers to Trace's ear): Shit.

Trace and Andrews help Simon up and leave, while Jennifer pushing Kevin by the wheelchair follows.

Cut to: Another concert. Jennifer is dancing while Simon, stoned as can be, still finds everything amazing. There's a song playing in the background that has some of these lyrics, "Wake up and live your, wake up and live..." They are all seen having a good time dancing in the crowd.

Cut to: People playing the drums. At night. Simon and Andrew are sitting together, while on the other side Trace, Jennifer and Kevin are sitting together, Around the Fire.

Kevin grabs a guitar nearby. Simon sees him. Everyone is sitting Around the Fire while Kevin plays a song on his guitar. Everyone listens in. Jennifer looks over to Simon, they stare at each other for a little while.

Kevin sings "I don't mind failing in this world. I don't mind failing in this world. Staying down here with the raggedy crew cause gettin' up there means steppin' on you. I don't mind failin in this world."

They all start to sing, except Simon. And eventually Simon sings along.

Kevin repeats his chorus, "I don't mind failing in this world. I don't mind failing in this world. Staying down here with the raggedy crew cause gettin' up there means steppin' on you. I don't mind failin in this world."

Jennifer looks at Simon again, then Kevin does. Simon looks back. Drums begin to play and everyone goes back to dancing with the beat.

Cut to: Trace, Simon, Kevin, Andrews and Jennifer walking.

Kevin (to everyone): I'm uh, I'm getting kind of tired.

Trace: Well whining isn't gonna help any.

Kevin: Skuse me!

Trace: Alright, alright.

Andrews: Why don't we check out who's on Mike's bus?

Trace: Ohh! Yeah!

Kevin: I wanna hang with Simon.

Simon: I'll hang with ya man. (not to Kevin): Where ya guys gonna be?

Jennifer: I think this—

Trace (interrupts, points): Ooh! Ooh! Right over at that bus.

Jennifer (to Simon): I think I'm just gonna go over and chill out. I'll be hanging out in the van if you wanna come and find me.

Simon: Alright, I'll, I'll get you.

Jennifer (to Kevin): Don't keep him all night.

Kevin (smiles): No worries.

Simon (to Andrew and Trace): See ya later.

Andrew: See ya later.

Simon (to Kevin): Where we goin'?

Kevin motions his hands to the right.

Kevin: That way.

Simon: Alright. Buckle up!

Simon pushes Kevin in the wheelchair, he laughs.

Simon: Yeah!
