Devon's Future Dreams
Who does Devon dream about co-starring with in his next movie? Read on and find out!
If you could peek inside Devon Sawa's heart and see what he truly wants in life, you'd see the words "to make great movies and work with awesome actors" written all over it. At age 18, Wild America already marks this Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada-born actor's fourth major motion picture (he's also been in 1994's Little Giants and 1996's Casper and Now and Then), and Devon isn't about to call it quits on acting anytime soon. No way! Devon dreams about becoming as big as legendary actors Robert DeNiro and Harvey Keitel. (Okay, we're talking in the long run.)
For now, however, Devon's acting aspirations include working with three of his favorite actresses. One of these is 20-year-old Alicia Silverstone, who will be starring in July's Batman and Robin. "I'd love to work with her." Devon's told the British mag Live & Kicking. Besides Alicia, he would also like to work with 22-year-old Drew Barrymore, star of last year's Scream. "I think she's a great actress too," he's said. And, of course, let's not forget most every guy's fantasy: "I'd also like to work with Demi Moore," he's added. Wait, Dev! What about Now and Then Didn't you already get to work with Demi? "Although she was in Now and Then, we didn't have any scenes together," Devon's said about Demi, 34. Ah, we see!
But Devon isn't just hoping to hop on stage with talented female stars. He would also like to work with Marvin's Room's talented 22-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio, who'll next be seen in this July's much-awaited sea tragedy Titanic. "Leo's done a lot of great movies and seems like a cool guy," Devon's remarked. "Hopefully, I'll be able to work with him someday."
Besides dreaming of working with ideal co-stars, Devon has an idea of the ideal film he wants to act in too. Although he thoroughly enjoyed his role as Mark Stouffer in Wild America, and the experience of working with Jonathon Taylor Thomas and Scott Bairstow was unforgettable fun, Devon is ready to move into more dramatic roles. In his own words, he wants to be in "something darker, more Pulp Fiction-esque."
It would be cool if Dev could just snap his fingers and—voila!—the perfect part would appear. But for now, Devon is working hard and not losing sign of his dream. And although Devon tells BB that he wants to live to see the day when "someone can say, 'Wow, he's a really good actor,'" at the rate he's going, we don't think he'll be waiting too long.
